Health and Common Conditions: African grey parrots are especially susceptible to feather plucking and deficiencies in calcium, as well as vitamins A and D. Additionally, they are at risk for respiratory infections, psittacosis, and psittacosis beak and feather disease (PBFD).

Bird Health Assurance

At African Grey Parrots For Sale, we conduct comprehensive health assessments on all our birds, ensuring they are certified negative for Polyomavirus (PVD), Avian Bornavirus (ABV), Proventricular Dilatation Disease (PDD), Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease (PBFD), and Chlamydia psittaci. Each bird purchase includes official documentation confirming their health status. See our african grey parrot for sale.

We guarantee that all birds are free from any diseases or parasites at the time of sale, ensuring their overall well-being. This guarantee encompasses the absence of viral, bacterial, and fungal infections, as well as congenital issues. For birds that are fully weaned and eating independently, we provide a 7-day health assurance.

During this 7-day period, we recommend that you have the bird examined by an avian veterinarian. If the veterinarian determines that the bird is unfit for sale, you must present the veterinarian’s certificate to us within 24 hours of the examination to qualify for a replacement or a full refund. Please be aware that birds that have been hand-fed by customers are not eligible for this assurance. No refunds, exchanges, or replacements will be provided if the customer is unable to care for an unweaned bird.

If the buyer does not have the bird evaluated by an avian veterinarian within the 7-day time frame following pickup or delivery, the sale will be considered final, and no guarantee or refund will be applicable.

Clarification of Hereditary Defects

The inheritance of traits from parents to their offspring is facilitated by genes and chromosomes, which carry the genetic information that influences the characteristics of future generations. This process of natural inheritance involves the transfer of genetic material from both parents and their ancestors. Certain conditions, such as patellar dislocation, may result from factors like improper handling, trauma, or weight gain, and therefore, these are not included in this Health Guarantee.

I affirm that the parrot has received its initial vaccinations. It is your responsibility to ensure that the parrot receives the remaining two vaccinations and to keep up with annual booster shots.

This guarantee exclusively covers inherited genetic defects. We do not assume responsibility for airborne or infectious diseases, which include, but are not limited to, parvovirus, coccidia, giardia, distemper, rabies, or any other infections the parrot may acquire after leaving our care. Although we implement all necessary precautions to prevent illness, young parrots possess immature immune systems when they transition to their new homes, necessitating additional care until they are fully vaccinated.

We are not liable for any veterinary expenses incurred after the parrot departs from our facility, nor will we accept returns for parrots that become ill post-purchase. All sales are final. Additionally, we disclaim any responsibility for issues related to anesthesia should the parrot require surgery.

It is your duty to ensure the health of your parrot once your parrot is living with you. Training and behavioral management, including housebreaking, are entirely your responsibility and are not included as part of the sale. The owner is fully accountable for the care and education of the parrot. <<Read more about us>>
